Cherry Island Sports Complex Under New Management

If you raised kids who played soccer in the Sacramento area, you’re probably familiar with Cherry Island Sports Complex, formerly known as Cherry Island Soccer Complex; it’s a staple for youth soccer in the region. We are excited to announce that effective today, Cherry Island Sports Complex is being managed by Sacramento County Regional Parks!

Cherry Island Sports Complex has hosted events as large as 100 teams. With its park-like setting, the complex is great for families to relax while watching their loved ones compete. Visitors can enjoy the covered picnic areas and available BBQs.

“We look forward to building on what the former property manager has done with this sports complex, while making it our own. Historically, this property has been used for soccer events, but we see great potential for expanding the use of this complex for events like rugby, cricket and so much more.”

Mike Doane, Deputy Director of Regional Parks
