Driver Killed in April 9th Elkhorn Blvd. Accident Identified

Fatal Head-On Crash on Elkhorn Boulevard near 22nd Street

 
RIO LINDA, CA (April 20, 2021) – A man died in a head-on collision in Rio Linda Friday evening, April 9.
 
The Sacramento County Sheriff Coroner identified him as 41-year-old Timothy Estabrook of Rio Linda.
 
According to the CHP, a green Jeep Cherokee and a pickup truck collided head-on around 7:47 p.m. on Elkhorn Boulevard near 22nd Street. One vehicle veered into the path of the other, causing the collision.
 
When officers arrived, one of the vehicles was wrapped around a pole and it sheared off at the base. Emergency personnel attempted CPR on Estabrook, but he died at the scene.

This was one of two major accidents that occurred within two blocks on Elkhorn Blvd. within an hour of each other.
 
Investigators seek to determine the cause of the crash.
