Joseph Wetherbe (76) of Alamogordo, NM passed away at his home on Sunday, April 25, 2021.
Joe was born to Marguerite and Mead Wetherbe in the state of Washington. The family later moved to New Mexico where Joe spent most of his childhood. After graduating from Alamogordo High School in 1964, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed at McClellan AFB in Sacramento, CA where he met his wife to be, Carol Hill (deceased) of Rio Linda, CA.
Following his Air Force service Joe began work for Lumber Dealers Materials Company in Sacramento, CA. Joe was a jack-of-all-trades with a passion for cars, motorcycles, airplanes, and just about anything that moved. He loved nothing more than to hear people laugh, especially at one of his own jokes. 32 years ago, Joe returned to New Mexico to live in Albuquerque and recently moved back to the hometown of his youth, Alamogordo.
He is survived by daughters Jonel and Cassie, brothers Bond and Jim, and grandchildren Kylie, Avery, Makenzie and Analise.
A celebration of life will be held in Albuquerque over Memorial Day weekend for the family.
