Thieves take $12,000 in Fireworks from Rio Linda Little League

Authorities say thieves stole $12,000 worth of fireworks from a Northern California fireworks fundraiser stand.

The theft happened sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from the Rio Linda Little League stand in front of Archway Market.

Rio Linda Little League president Shawna Reed says the fireworks were being sold to raise money for their general fund, which is used to buy equipment, jerseys and host events for softball and baseball.

All higher-priced items, such as the league’s most popular $500 package, were taken along with small individual items like sparklers. Police are investigating. There is also a reward for information leading to the thief or thieves.
